No sound during the game. What do I do?

Check that your iPhone's silent switch (the physical toggle on the side) is off. The app plays audio in silent mode, but make sure your volume is turned up before you leave home. If it's still silent, force-quit the app and reopen it.

Do I need an Apple Music subscription?

You need Apple Music to search the catalog and use those songs as walk-up music. The same is true for anyone you hand the game to: an Apple Music track plays through whoever's phone is running it, so they need their own subscription for those songs. The built-in soundboard (air horn, charge, etc.) and AI player announcements both work without a subscription.

The announcer is saying a name wrong. Can I fix it?

Yes, and you only have to do it once. Open the player and use Name Lock — you'll hear how the name will be said, and if it's wrong you can pick from a few takes or spell it out the way it sounds. Once you lock it, that exact pronunciation is used everywhere: the walk-up, the Roll Call, and the Bullpen. If you later change the player's name or the announcer voice, Name Lock asks you to give it one more listen.

I can't make Saturday's game. How do I hand off the music?

Open the roster menu and tap Share. Send the link to whoever is running the music. They tap it, import a copy of the roster, and they're ready — every player, every song, every announcement already built. Their copy is theirs to run game day with; you stay in control of the original. They get it free for 30 days, with no account and nothing to buy.

Two things worth telling them. If they don't have the app yet, they'll install it and then need to come back to your link and tap Open in Now Batting — opening the app from their home screen won't load your team. And if any of your walk-ups are Apple Music songs, those play through their Apple Music, so they'll need their own. Announcements, the Roll Call, the soundboard and any originals you made all play without it.

Worth building your Roll Call before you hand it off — they can play it, they can't build it.

If you update the roster on your end after sharing, share again with the same link. They tap Get latest version to pull your changes down to their copy. Edits they make stay on their phone — they're running game day from their copy, you're running it from yours.

Can parents add their own players?

Yes. Share a roster-building link to your team group chat — each parent fills in their own player's name, number, walk-up song, and drop point. It all lands in your roster, ready for you to review and fine-tune.

The field has no cell service. Will the app still work?

Yes — if you set it up before you leave Wi-Fi. Announcer calls and original songs are already on your phone; Apple Music songs just need one step: tap Save on Manage, open the playlist, and tap Download. After that the whole game runs in airplane mode. Full walkthrough: Using Now Batting offline.

How do I change the announcer voice?

There are six voices — Classic, Energetic, Vintage Radio, Hype, Latino, and Softball Energy. Change it from Settings (tap the roster name at the top of the main screen) or right from the Manage screen — tap the voice, confirm, and the whole team re-records in the new voice automatically in the background (about 20–30 seconds), new or edited players included. Switch back to a voice you've used before and it's instant, no re-recording. Two things to know: an announcer call you uploaded yourself is left as it is, and after a switch it's worth playing a few names back and using Name Lock on any that should sound a certain way. Do it while you've got wifi — the new calls save to your phone as they're made, so they're still ready to play offline at the field, with no need to re-save. Switching back to a voice you've used before is instant and works even offline — those recordings are already on your phone. Trying a new voice with no signal won't take until you're back online: your team keeps its current voice until then, and it catches up on its own. Your other teams aren't affected, and Roll Call will show Rebuild so it picks up the new voice on its next build.
