With Field Ready, Now Batting keeps your game-day audio rolling even when the field has no signal.

Your Field Ready checklist

While you're on Wi-Fi or have good cell service, set your announcer voice — and if you want to run a Roll Call, build that too (if you can, grab the lineup beforehand from the coach group chat).

Pro tip

Anything Now Batting creates for you needs a connection to build, but plays offline once it's made — including Original walk-ups, Team Hype Songs, Roll Calls, and announcements. If you know the field has no service, set these up before you go.

Tap Field Ready
On the Manage screen. Now Batting gathers the Apple Music songs — the ones that typically stream — walk-ups, Situational Sounds, and the Now Batting Top Walk-Ups playlist — into one playlist named after your roster. You can also check off any of your Music Hub playlists to fold in too.

Field Ready gathers your songs into the playlist. But Apple only plays offline what it has actually downloaded — so these two steps are what make it work at the field. Miss them and nothing plays with no signal.

Open the playlist in Apple Music
Once the gathering is done, Now Batting prompts you to download the playlist to your phone. The button takes you straight there.

That's the one step Apple requires to actually put those songs on your phone.

The real test

Want to be sure? Go airplane mode.

Before you leave Wi-Fi, turn on Airplane Mode and run a walk-up, hit a Situational Sound, and tap a playlist you want to use. If everything plays, you're field-ready. That's the proof.

Quick answers

Do I have to download every song one by one?

No. Now Batting builds the one playlist for you — you just tap Download on it in Apple Music.

What if I add a new walk-up song later?

Tap Field Ready again to rebuild the playlist, then download it once more. Quick, and worth doing before game day.

Does Roll Call work offline?

Yes — build it on Wi-Fi first. Once generated, the full Roll Call is saved to your phone and plays with no signal. Creating a new one still needs a connection, so build it before you go.

What about Situational Sounds?

They're Apple Music tracks, so make sure you finish the Field Ready + Download step before game day. After that, they're ready to play with no signal.

Do original Now Batting songs need downloading?

No. Your original songs are saved to your phone the moment they're made — they play offline with nothing extra to do.

Do announcer calls work offline?

Yes. They're stored on your phone too, so every "Now batting…" plays with no signal.

Do the curated Music Hub playlists work offline?

Yes — if you add them. When you tap Field Ready, the essentials come in automatically: your players' walk-up songs, your Situational Sounds, and the curated Now Batting Top Walk-Ups list. The same screen lets you check off any of the themed Music Hub playlists (Pregame Hype, Latin Heat, and the rest) to fold into the download too, so they play at the field with no signal. Anything you don't pick stays online-only for browsing on Wi-Fi.

What if I switch the announcer voice?

Switching re-records your team in the new voice, which needs a connection — so do it on Wi-Fi before you go. Once it's done, the new calls are saved to your phone and play offline. Switching back to a voice you've used before works even with no signal.

Someone else is running the game — will it work offline for them?

Yes. Have them import the roster on Wi-Fi, then tap Field Ready and download the Apple Music playlist on their own phone (they'll need their own Apple Music). After that, they're field-ready too.
